Recently watched a co-worker (FOH server- no less) come in, spend a fortune where we work, get a discount, not tip on the full amount and then her husband threw up in the bathroom, passed out on the floor and had to be carried out.  Really?!!  Where you work?!!

Could you be any dumber or do anything else to make your co-workers resent you more?  Just frustrates me that so often, foodservice employees s*** where they eat, so to speak.  Whether its dating/sleeping with co-workers, acting foolish or just plain stupidity- I have a problem believing this happens in other kinds of work environments.

What, you don't think GAP employees walk in on their day off, unfold 36 shirts, demand a discount, knock things over and throw up all over the Khakis shelf?

I have seen similar stuff to what you said (although not as bad I don't think Tongue out) and I often wondered the same thing. What in the world are you thinking about?  These are people you work with.

I don't mean to stereotype- but why are so many foodservice people of questionable morals values?!!  Kidding.  Or maybe its just b/c they drink more and that leads to trouble?  Either way- I am always surprised by the stories and adventures of my co-workers.  Crazy!

I was at work yesterday and I thought of this thread.  Here's the story:

Two servers were working a large party, so they were splitting tips.  The host of the party slipped them each and extra $30 at the end of the shift. One of the servers put their $30 into the pool of money that they were to split (thinking that she was the only one that received money) and the other did not.  So basically, he stole from his partner that night.  Here's the kicker-The host of the party was the mother of an employee and word got back to the honest server that she slipped them both cash.  Needless to say she wasn't happy and complained to our manager.  When the manager talked to the other server he claimed that he did not remember getting cash from the host of the party.

Ummmmm, that's not something a server would forget about so he was clearly lying.  Our manager fired him, and rightfully so.  Stealing from co-workers is not cool at all Frown

OMG wasabi that is a horrible story!!!  I've heard of people stealing tables from one another but never tips. There's just some things that are off limits. I hope that guy never gets a restaurant job again because of this!
